my date

The date I’d been waiting for… happened today!

by sanu on March 22, 2010

Yes, it’s my second date in reunion. And it’s the date I’ve been seeing over and over in my mind. That garden of pure love that we go to, that fountain, the water flowing down that staircase and those flowers and green plants….. Everything looks the same it was last time we went there. Even the squirrel still remembered to welcome us. And the orange fish in the pond, oh my friends, we’re back. You missed your favorite couple, didn’t you? He took me by the hand to greet those fish and then we walked upto the white aisle, just to sit for a while. Then we got down and walked up the staircase. He hugged me and planted a kiss on my lips and we walked together, holding each other so tight…. why wouldn’t we? That closeness was all we wanted. Closeness of heart, of feelings, and of each other. As we sat on the very same bench, cuddling, we couldn’t even think of words to talk about. It just felt we didn’t need to hear the words, we just knew each others’ souls. As we cuddled, I could feel his breath in my ears, and my neck. Our breathing was in a rhythm, like it was one breath flowing through both our bodies, and one heartbeat, beating in both of us. We turned on our tiny mp3 and it played the soothing music….. the romantic, soft tunes. It was like a slow dance, where our souls were dancing. And then I sang for him, and he hummed. It was just a world of two of us now. Later, much later, he spoke…. Are you happy? I just smiled. Oh, he had a eyelace on his cheek. I don’t even know it was mine or his. I picked it up and put it on his hand, he made a wish…..I don’t know what, or perhaps I do!  Then we talked, about us, about our families, about our studies, and career, and about our future. Nothing seemed heavy, everything seemed so light and so comfortable. It was time for some food. Wow, it was yummy. Of course our dear cold coffee… we sipped it in with a taste of love. And the food was delecious. The day was about to end. Just what we wanted, coz it was on our wishlist to spend an evening in that place. And wow, our wishes are always fantastic! The lights went on, the moonlight shone in the water of pond. The bright orange fish looked liked lightbulbs. And we walked around every corner of the garden. Then he said I looked even prettier in that moonlight. What could I say….. just thanked him, and  gave him a little peck. We went up again, and decided to just hug each other and close our eyes. That should have been the state of nirvana, we fell partly asleep, but conscious of only each other’s presence. The time flew by. I don’t know how long. And then we returned back….. we had to, at least for now. And we kissed each other goodbye just like we always do, but just for the night. I love how the day went. It was even better than my imagination.
